Wu Shu Kwan Widnes is a martial arts school located in Widnes, a town in Liverpool, Cheshire, England. The classes are held on Thursdays from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Kingsway Leisure Centre.
The school is open to both new and old members, and the training is conducted by Senior Master David Chadwick, a 2nd Degree Black Belt who was awarded his Black Belt in 2016. In addition to regular training, the school also hosts visits by Senior Master Steve Bishop, a 5th Degree Black Belt holder since 1990. Students have the opportunity to learn from one of the highest-ranking martial artists in the world.
The school has strict rules regarding photography and videoing during classes, and members are requested to refrain from using their mobile phones inside the training area. The school emphasises discipline and respect while focusing on honing the students' skills. Demonstrations by the instructors, such as Dave punching roofing tiles, chopping bricks with bare hands, and breaking wood with sidekicks, showcase the power and precision of Wu Shu Kwan techniques.
Wu Shu Kwan Widnes is also proud to mention Trish Chang, a Senior Master Instructress with a 7th Degree Black Belt, who broke a Guinness World Record by successfully chopping 185 wooden blocks in 2 minutes. This event was featured on London Weekend Television's Guinness World Records series hosted by Ian Wright.
