Worthing Harriers Athletic Club

David, the organiser, extends a warm invitation to the sports community on behalf of Worthing Harriers Athletic Club, a cornerstone of athletics in Sussex since 1927. The club offers training and competition opportunities for athletes aged 9 to masters categories. Their mission is to promote athletics in the region and support members in achieving their goals.

Membership is open to individuals aged 13 and above and runs from 1st April to 31st March. Prospective or renewing members can visit the club's membership portal to complete their annual subscription. New members aged 13 and above are invited to attend a few sessions to experience the club first-hand. For younger athletes aged 9 to 12, the club holds junior trial sessions throughout the year. Parents can place their child on the waiting list by completing a form, after which the child will be invited to participate in trial sessions.

The club’s operations are largely driven by volunteers, and members are encouraged to help with marshalling, officiating, and administration. This support is crucial for the effective functioning and positive experience of the club.

David highlights an upcoming event, "The Opener," scheduled for 18th April at Worthing Leisure Centre. This event features a range of track and field activities including sprint hurdles, 3K, 100m, 600m, 150m, 1 mile, long jump, shot put, and javelin.

The club offers New Balance kit for purchase, available in men's, women's, and youth sizes. Additionally, Worthing Harriers participates in the West Sussex Fun Run League (WSFRL), allowing members to compete in various races across the region. The club maintains records of members' achievements and recognises their accomplishments.
