Woodford Cricket Club, nestled in Woodford, North East Cheshire/South Manchester, is your go-to place for cricket. Jackie welcomes players of all ages and abilities to join in the fun. The club runs three senior teams and a bunch of junior teams, so there’s something for everyone, whether you're after competitive matches or a casual game.
In 2024, the 1st XI will be playing in the Cheshire Cricket League Division 1, showing their commitment to top-level cricket. The 2nd XI, after a great promotion in 2023, will be in Division A. There’s also an over 40s team competing in the Cheshire County League for those seasoned players who want to keep their innings going.
For the young cricketers, Jackie runs junior teams from under 9 to under 19. These squads compete in the Cheshire County and Cheshire and High Peak Junior Leagues, giving kids a chance to sharpen their skills and face off against other clubs. Plus, there’s coaching for the under 7s, with friendly matches lined up to get them into the spirit of the game.
Junior training is on Thursdays, with different times for each age group. Jackie is dedicated to nurturing young talent and will be running two ECB All Stars Cricket courses in 2024. This fun 8-week programme is perfect to spark a love for cricket in children.
