Netball is a fantastic sport that offers a range of physical and mental benefits. It combines elements of physical exertion, teamwork, and strategy, making it a well-rounded activity. Players need to be agile, fast, and have the ability to jump high to reach for the ball. It also emphasises the importance of teamwork, as players must pass the ball to each other and work together to outmanoeuvre their opponents.
Additionally, netball requires players to think critically and make quick decisions, making it mentally stimulating.
Woodend & District Netball Club holds their own summer netball competition on Friday nights at Buffalo Stadium. The competition caters to age categories from 7 to 16 years and runs for a nine-week season, starting on 6 October and ending on 1 December 2023.
