The British Offshore Sailing School, a renowned Sailing club in Southampton, is thrilled to announce their upcoming Women's Sailing Courses. Designed specifically for women, these RYA sailing courses are held twice a year, during the early Summer and Autumn seasons.
Spanning over five days, these courses follow the same format as the school's other highly successful programs. One of the many reasons these courses stand out is the opportunity for participants to sail with other women as part of a crew. This camaraderie and shared experiences often enhance the learning journey and boost self-confidence amongst the participants.
Covering a range of essential topics such as 'man overboard' drills, safety measures, boat handling skills, and mastering indispensable knots, these courses are tailored to provide a comprehensive sailing education. Participants can choose between two practical syllabuses, namely RYA Competent Crew or RYA Day Skipper, based on their preferences and goals.
For those who are already qualified sailors, joining the experienced sailing course offers the chance to further develop skills and gain even more confidence on the water. The British Offshore Sailing School maintains a balanced teaching ratio, ensuring that every participant receives personalised attention from experienced instructors, regardless of their gender.
In terms of accommodation, participants will have the unique opportunity to stay onboard during the course. It's worth noting that mooring fees will be shared amongst the participants. Additionally, the school offers wet weather jackets and salopettes for hire at a nominal cost of £7.50 per day to ensure everyone is equipped for various weather conditions. Course books and logbooks can also be purchased from the school.
When it comes to meals, the school provides three evening meals onboard, contributing to a seamless and enjoyable experience for all. However, participants are expected to have one evening meal ashore, allowing them to explore and savor the local cuisine.
