Witham Scuba Diving Club

Witham Scuba Diving Club is a friendly and sociable SCUBA diving club located in Witham, Essex. The club meets regularly on Thursday nights at the Witham Leisure Centre, with an official meeting on the first Thursday of each month. The meetings start at 8:15pm and are followed by pool sessions at 9:00pm.

The club follows the training standards set by the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC), but divers with qualifications from other agencies such as SAA, PADI, and NAUI are also welcome to join. Witham Scuba Diving Club offers a range of benefits for its members, including access to their own compressor for pumping bottles (included in the membership fee), a deep pool going down to 3. 4 metres for skill practise, branch equipment available for hire, and opportunities for branch diving and social events.

The club has a calendar of events for the upcoming year, which includes a compressor course, an Ocean Diver training course, a Christmas get-together, a curry night, greyhound racing at Romford, laser tag, white water rafting at Waltham Abbey (including canoeing and paddleboarding), a club BBQ, and a club trip to Lanzarote in 2022.

Witham Scuba Diving Club is a branch of the BSAC, meaning they provide diver training in line with BSAC guidelines for members over the age of 16. The club does not currently offer training for individuals below this age, but they are willing to assist in finding suitable alternatives. If any medical conditions are declared, the club will refer individuals to a diving medical referee for further assessment.
