Tom would like to invite everyone to book the upcoming Open competitions at Wilpshire Golf Club in Blackburn. Wilpshire has been a cornerstone of the Ribble Valley golfing scene since 1890, situated in beautiful parkland and moorland terrain. Designed by James Braid, the 18-hole course is both challenging and enjoyable for golfers of all abilities.
Members and visitors will find a warm, welcoming atmosphere with top-notch service at Wilpshire. The club offers a variety of membership options, including flexible payment plans. Annual subscriptions run from 1st October to 30th September, and new members can opt to pay in interest-free monthly instalments. There's a one-time joining fee of £100 for new members after 1st October 2023, but there are discounts if you join partway through the year.
As a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC), Wilpshire also offers a 4-day membership that allows play on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. This package caters to those who might find the full membership fees a bit steep.
Golf societies are welcome too, with society packages available from 1st April to 31st October. These include options for coffee and bacon rolls, 18 holes, and delicious meal packages for groups of a certain size.
Visitors can enjoy the course with green fees available on both weekdays and weekends. Summer rates for 2023 are between £45 and £50, with special member/guest rates at £25. Tee times can be conveniently booked online.
Wilpshire also hosts open competitions throughout the year. Participants need a World Handicap System (WHS) member number and must be members of an affiliated golf club. Information on upcoming competitions and prize eligibility is available on the club’s website.
