All members must abide by the Club's code of conduct, which includes respecting other members and their horses, following instructions from instructors, and maintaining a safe and inclusive environment at all times. Any breaches of the code of conduct may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion from the club. The Williamstown Horse and Pony Club Paddock is a unique feature that sets our club apart from others in the area. Limited agistment opportunities are available in the paddock, which is located in Altona and leased from the Mobil refinery.
This provides our members with a convenient and secure space to keep their horses and ponies. The paddock has a restricted capacity and is exclusively available to club members. It adds great value to our club community by providing access to facilities that are not easily found in urban areas. The Williamstown Horse and Pony Club welcomes riders aged 25 years and under, regardless of their riding ability.
We prioritise fostering relationships between riders and their horses, as well as providing comprehensive training and education on horse care, riding, and handling. Our instructional rallies, held at Quarry Reserve on Park Crescent in Williamstown, offer a range of activities designed to improve riding skills, horse management, and competition preparation. Our club also hosts a variety of events, including interclub competitions and our annual Pony Club Gymkhana, which features the President's Cup show jumping qualifying event. We take pride in offering a programme that emphasises versatility and high-level instruction.
Our team of experienced instructors, along with visiting experts, provide valuable guidance and enhance the learning experience for our members. The Williamstown Horse and Pony Club is located close to Melbourne CBD and just 1 km away from Port Phillip Bay. Despite our small size, we are dedicated to providing a fulfilling and enriching experience for our members. We value community spirit and aim to create a welcoming and supportive environment where riders can pursue their passion for horses and develop strong horsemanship skills.
As proud members of The Pony Club Association of Victoria and the Central Zone, we stay connected with the wider equestrian community and have access to additional resources and opportunities. We invite all riders who share our love for horses and desire to enhance their equestrian skills to join our club. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider, we have something to offer you. Visit our pony club rally on the first Sunday of every month to get a taste of what we are about and learn more about our club and membership options.
