Welcome to the Williamstown Horse and Pony Club, located in the beautiful suburb of Williamstown North, just 8 km from the heart of Melbourne and only 1 km from Port Phillip Bay. Despite being a small club, we offer a diverse and exciting programme of instruction and activities for riders of all levels.
Our club prides itself on providing high-quality instruction and education in caring for, riding, and handling horses. We believe in fostering strong relationships between riders and their horses, and our aim is to create a supportive and inclusive community for equestrians. Membership is open to individuals aged 25 and under, regardless of their riding ability.
Instructional rallies are held at Quarry Reserve, Park Crescent, Williamstown, providing a safe and beautiful environment for our members to learn and grow. All new members are warmly welcomed, and we encourage anyone interested in joining our club to visit our Pony Club rally, which takes place on the first Sunday of every month.
As a member of the Central Zone in Victoria, our club is part of a wider equestrian community. We are proud members of The Pony Club Association of Victoria, and we actively participate in various interclub competitions and events. One of our highlights is our Annual Pony Club Gymkhana, which usually takes place in October and features a President's Cup show jumping qualifying event.
In addition to our instructional rallies and competitions, Williamstown Horse and Pony Club offers agistment opportunities for its members. We are fortunate to lease a limited-capacity paddock in Altona from the Mobil refinery, providing our members with a special privilege to agist their horses.
At our club, we value and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our members. We honour individuals who have gone above and beyond in their service to the Williamstown Horse and Pony Club by awarding them with Life Membership. We are grateful for their contributions and proudly acknowledge their commitment.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all, our club has a set of rules and conduct by-laws that must be followed. These regulations should be read in conjunction with the Club's Rules of Incorporation (Constitution) and the Pony Club Victoria (PCV) Rules. Compliance with the uniform policy is expected, and riders are required to wear the full Pony Club uniform at every rally. Parental supervision is essential for Junior Members, and guardians must be present at all times.
