” Willesden on Stoke” has a rich history, as it was constructed in c1894 and was originally known as “Willesden. ” The house was lived in and expanded by the premier of Tasmania, Albert George Ogilvie, in 1934. Ogilvie modernised the house by adding a new pile of rooms to the eastern side and converting the exterior to an Art Deco structure while retaining most of its Victorian interiors. The property's heritage significance lies in its association with the former top and the Art Deco fabric that showcases his occupation and modernisation.
The Young Suite offers an exceptional opportunity to experience luxury and history in a prime location. Guests can enjoy the stunning views of Mount Wellington and explore the vibrant North Hobart restaurant/caf strip just a short walk away.
