Are you the owner of Wigston Willow Football Club?

Wigston Willow Football Club, formerly known as Wigston Utd before rebranding in 2015, has a rich history dating back to its formation in 1996. The club underwent a name change to FC Willow in recognition of its home at Willow Park before merging the names to become Wigston Willow FC in 2019. The club's primary focus is to develop a youth club that will ensure its longevity for years to come.
Wigston Willow FC believes in providing equal football opportunities to boys and girls of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. The club aims to offer playing opportunities at open-age level and is open to everyone without prejudice or exception. Conveniently located in the heart of the town, Wigston Willow FC aims to serve the local community and become the “community club” of Wigston.
The club is currently in its 5th season of a 10-year plan to become a community club serving all ages, ranging from the “play phase” (4–6 years old) to veterans, for both male and female players. In just four seasons, the club has grown from a single men's team to affiliating 15 teams for the 2023-24 season.
Parents of prospective new youth players interested in joining Wigston Willow FC can express their child's interest by following the instructions provided on the club's website. The club welcomes new volunteer coaches, whether experienced or not, and can fund FA Level 1 courses for those without experience. Those interested in coaching kids' football can register their details on the club's website.
Wigston Willow FC has two main home grounds. The main home ground is Willow Park, located on Aylestone Lane in Wigston. The U11 teams use All Saints Primary ground, which is accessible through the Aylestone Lane entrance next to Willow Park.
The club also offers various sessions, such as women's casual football and academy sessions for different age groups. Women aged 16 and above, regardless of ability, can participate in open sessions for a fee of 4. The academy sessions cater to children in reception age (U5), year 1 (U6), year 2 (U7), and year 3 (U8), with each session lasting one hour and costing 5.
The Wigston Willow FC Academy focuses on developing players from a young age, offering football opportunities to U5, U6, U7, and U8 players. The academy serves as a platform for new players, including complete beginners, to try out football. The club's mission is to create teams for these players once they are ready, subject to the availability of volunteers. There is no need to sign up or register for academy level; players can simply book sessions online.
The academy sessions take place every Saturday morning from September 2023 to May/June 2024, excluding Christmas and New Year's Eve. The sessions are held from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Willow Park. Participants are recommended to wear weather-appropriate sportswear, boots, and shin pads. Drinking water is available from the pavilion.
Wigston Willow Football Club values the support of its community and is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all players. The club follows safeguarding guidelines and is England Accredited. Access to important documents and policies can be found on the club's website.
