Whitmore Cricket Club

Welcome to Whitmore Cricket Club, a community cricket club based in Whitmore, Newcastle-under-Lyme, in the beautiful region of New Zealand. At Whitmore CC, we have a strong focus on our Junior Cricket Academy, which serves as the beating heart of our club. Each Spring and Summer Friday at 6pm, we welcome over 100 young cricketers to our Junior training evenings.

While the juniors enjoy playing the wonderful game of cricket, parents and adult members have the opportunity to relax and welcome the weekend with a few drinks in hand. Our bar is open and offers a welcoming atmosphere, and we are proud to have one of the largest beer gardens in the county, providing a fantastic space for socialising and enjoying the cricket.

Our club boasts a range of mixed junior teams that represent Whitmore CC in various age categories, including U8, U10, U12, U13, U14, U16, U18, and U19. Additionally, we have Girls Lightning teams that participate in the U11, U13, U15 (where we are proud to be the ECB National T20 Champions of 2022), and U19 categories.

Many of our teenage junior members progress through to Junior and Senior County Teams, as well as our Whitmore Senior teams. We have a range of senior teams, including the 1st XI, competing in the North Staffs & South Cheshire League Division 1, the 2nd XI in Division 6, and the 3rd XI in Division 8. On Sundays, we have two additional teams competing in the Stone & District League.

We are also thrilled to have a dedicated Women's & Girls Cricket team, known as Whitmore Lightning. The Lightning 1st XI competes in the West Midlands Women's League Division 1, while the 2nd XI competes in Division 2. We also have a 3rd XI in the West Midlands Women's County League and a 4th XI in the Staffordshire Women's League. In addition to these teams, we have a women's softball team that represents the club in various festivals and indoor leagues.
