Whitland Cricket Club

Whitland Cricket Club is a well-established and family-friendly club located in Whitland, Carmarthenshire. The club participates in the Pembrokeshire County Cricket Club league, with senior, junior, and social teams.

The senior section of the club consists of the 1st XI, 2nd XI, and 3rd XI teams. The 1st XI plays in Division 2 of the PCCC League, while the 2nd XI competes in Division 4 and the 3rd XI in Division 5. These teams offer players of all skill levels the opportunity to engage in competitive cricket.

The junior section of Whitland Cricket Club is led by Colin John and his team of dedicated coaches. The club provides coaching and game time for young players from the age of 5 through the ECB/Cricket Wales All Stars programme, leading up to transition to senior league participation. Junior Training takes place every Thursday during the playing season, ensuring that young cricketers have ample opportunities to develop their skills.

In addition to the senior and junior teams, the club also has a social cricket team known as the Mighty Die Hards. They play social cricket most Friday evenings during summer, with both new and old players always welcomed to join in the fun. The captain of the Mighty Die Hards is Jeremy Woodford, supported by El Presidente Paul Kirk.

Whitland Cricket Club's modern clubhouse and ground are situated at Spring Hill in Whitland. The Hendygwyn Oval serves as the home ground for the 1st XI, 2nd XI, junior teams, and the Mighty Die Hards. The 3rd XI primarily plays their matches at the nearby Llanddewi Velfrey Cricket Ground.

The club is run by a dedicated team of officials, including President Clive Edwards, Chairman Ann-Marie Jenkins, Secretary Alys John, and Treasurer Colin John.
