About

White Lane Farm Riding School, located in Guildford, is a top-notch equestrian facility offering high-quality lessons and hacking experiences. Linda Cannon, the owner and instructor, founded the riding school in 1988 and has maintained a strong focus on horse management and teaching standards.

Situated in the beautiful Surrey Hills, an area renowned for its natural beauty, White Lane Farm is a short 5-minute drive from Guildford town centre and approximately 10 minutes from the A3. The stunning location provides a picturesque setting for riders to enjoy their equestrian pursuits.

White Lane Farm is proud to be an approved member of the Association of British Riding Schools, ensuring that the highest standards are adhered to. Linda Cannon holds a licence (AWRL028) and the farm's affiliation to the ABRS guarantees a reliable and professional experience for all riders.

The facilities at White Lane Farm are designed to cater to a range of abilities and interests. With one 40 × 20m sand/rubber school and another sand school located across the fields, riders can enjoy a variety of training environments. For those embarking on their equestrian journey, there is a dedicated grass paddock for leading-rein lessons, as well as a course of show jumps for more adventurous riders.

Lessons at White Lane Farm are tailored to individuals of all ages and abilities, starting from 3 years old and upwards. The emphasis is on private and semi-private lessons, ensuring that each rider receives the attention they need to progress. Linda and her team offer a friendly and caring approach to equestrianism, allowing riders to learn and develop consistently under the guidance of the same instructor. The farm's horses and ponies are highly trained and responsive, making them ideal partners for riders of any level.

For those seeking the thrill of exploring the surrounding countryside, White Lane Farm provides exceptional hacking opportunities. Situated between Newlands Corner and St Martha's Hill, riders can traverse all-weather sandy tracks that wind through heathland and woodland, offering stunning views along the way. Linda personally leads the hacks, whether in private sessions or small groups. Children are also welcome to join in on the fun, sometimes stopping by Newlands Corner Car Park for a well-deserved ice cream treat.

Hacks are available on both weekdays and weekends, and all rides are customised to suit the riders' experience levels, with suitable horses assigned to each rider.

If you're interested in learning more about White Lane Farm Riding School, please don't hesitate to contact Linda Cannon via phone or email. The farm's history is deeply ingrained in the Guildford community, with Eric Savage, Linda's father, purchasing the farm in 1953. Angela, Linda's mother, has been involved with the horses since 1954 and played a pivotal role in the riding school's establishment. Although she no longer assists directly, Angela remains a partner in the business and is always there to lend a hand and provide a warm cup of tea or coffee to instructors and staff.
