Nestled in the heart of Whistler, the Whistler Skate Park is a must-visit destination for skateboarders of all skill levels. With its recent expansion in 2016, the park has become the second largest in Canada, boasting over 4,600 square meters of skateable area. Open daily from April to November, skaters can enjoy the park from dawn until the lights shut off at 1 a. m.
One of the standout features of the Whistler Skate Park is the 6. 5-meter diameter “Snake Bowl”, a unique and cherished element that sets this park apart from others in North America. In addition to the Snake Bowl, the park also features a variety of pipes, a spine, volcano, and central pyramid, providing skaters with endless opportunities to showcase their skills.
The park's expansion was made possible with funding from the Province of British Columbia's Resort Municipality Initiative and a generous donation from the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation. Designed in collaboration with local skaters and built by EHR Contracting Limited Ltd, the expansion incorporates long flowy lines and street-style elements that cater to skaters looking for speed and creativity.
While the park is unsupervised, safety is a top priority, with helmets and protective gear strongly recommended. Skateboards, smooth tire bikes, scooters, and inline skates are permitted, while mountain bikes are not allowed in the park. To ensure a positive experience for all visitors, skaters are encouraged to follow the park's rules and etiquette.
Whether you're a seasoned skateboarder looking to test your skills or a beginner looking to improve, the Whistler Skate Park offers a welcoming and exciting atmosphere for riders of all ages. Come experience the thrill of skating in one of Canada's top skate parks and see why Whistler is a top destination for skateboard enthusiasts.
