HistoryWherry Archers was established in 1992 with the aim of providing an inclusive and welcoming archery club in the Great Yarmouth area. The club was formed to fill the void left by the closure of the Yarmouth Archery Club and has since grown into a thriving community of archery enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels.
MembershipWherry Archers welcomes individuals and families of all ages and abilities to join our club. We offer a range of membership options to suit your needs, including individual, family, and junior memberships. Becoming a member gives you access to our equipment container via a coded keysafe, allowing you to shoot at any time during our designated outdoor shooting days. Membership fees are renewable in September, and we offer a pro rata reduction in fees for those who join at different times of the year.
We believe that owning your own equipment is an important step in your archery journey, and we encourage members to purchase their own equipment within a few months of joining the club. We provide guidance and support in the buying process and can help you set up your new equipment. Furthermore, we also have a close relationship with Clickers Archery, a leading specialist archery shop in Norwich, which is conveniently located nearby.
Wherry Archers offers archery courses for beginners, which include all necessary equipment and insurance through Archery GB. These courses are run over a period of four sessions and are available in April and July. They can be conducted either as a group or on a one-to-one basis, depending on the number of participants. Booking is essential, and more information about trying archery, courses, and membership fees can be obtained by contacting wherrychairman92@gmail.

We also have an annual award for the most improved archer based on handicaps, which encourages members to continually strive for improvement. To facilitate this progress, we follow a recognised improvement scheme that helps archers track their development and set goals for improvement.
