Planning a trip to Whangarei Heads? Craig and the team at Whangarei Heads Volunteer Surf Lifesaving Patrol (VSLSP) have got your back! Nestled in one of NZ's most stunning coastal spots, Craig's crew of dedicated volunteer surf lifeguards ensure everyone enjoys a safe and fun day at the beach.
These legends patrol the beaches year-round, from those sunny summer days to the gnarlier winter waves. They’re always on the ball, trained up and ready to jump into action whenever needed, using the latest gear to keep everyone safe.
But it’s not all about patrolling. Craig and his team are big on water safety education, running surf safety courses, swimming lessons, and junior lifeguard programmes. They often team up with local schools, making sure everyone in the community knows how to stay safe in the water.
The club is also a great place to meet new mates and enjoy social activities like beach clean-ups, BBQs, and sports competitions. It's all about sharing a love for the ocean and giving back to the community.
