Welcome to the Whangarei Badminton Club Inc, located in Otaika, New Zealand. Our club is open to players of all abilities who are interested in playing the world's fastest racquet sport. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, we invite you to join us and have some fun on the court.
We meet throughout the year on Monday evenings from 7-9pm and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm (ish). The club only takes a break over the Christmas, New Year, and January period. We offer both regular memberships for frequent players and casual rates for those who are unable to commit to attending regularly. The casual rate is just $10 per night, making it accessible for everyone to come and play.
For those who are new to badminton or do not have their own racket, we have rackets available for use. Additionally, your first night with us is completely FREE! All you need to bring is a pair of non-marking footwear and a willingness to have a great time.

Our badminton hall is located at 19 Toe Toe Road, Whangarei. We have various membership options available, including a Monday Club Night membership for $130, a Wednesday Ladder membership for $130, or a combined Monday and Wednesday membership for $200.
Monday evenings are dedicated to social badminton, where players of all abilities come together to have fun and enjoy the game. We mix up the games to provide a good variety and accommodate players' different skill levels. If you are new to badminton, we can give you a brief rundown on the rules and how to play. The casual rate for Monday club nights is $10 per evening.
Wednesday evenings, on the other hand, are focused on competitive ladder challenges. Players are divided into groups based on their current ladder ranking, and games are played in various combinations within each group. Scores are recorded and used to determine each player's position on the ladder for the next evening. New players start at the bottom of the ladder.
The first session on Wednesday is free for new players.
