Alan Parrish, the organiser, wants to share some exciting news about Westwood Karate Academy with the sports community. Alan and Carol Parrish founded the Academy in 1993. Alan, who started training in 1974 under Japanese masters Keinosuke Enoeda and Masao Kawasoe, has extensive experience, having taught at the Marshall Street dojo and represented the UK in various international competitions. He holds a 6th dan with the World Traditional Karate Organisation and a 7th dan via Akihito Isaka sensei from Japan.
Carol began her training in 1988 and has a 4th dan. She’s a national and international medallist, including a gold at the 2001 WTKO World Championships in New York.
Joining them is Charlie Tarr, a 4th dan and TSKUK squad member, who started training at the academy at age 6 in 1999. Charlie was part of the winning team at the 2016 WTKO European Championships.
