weekend. Teams are typically balanced by skill level to ensure fair and competitive play. The focus in C hockey is on fun, skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Players have the opportunity to participate in local tournaments and play in league games against other teams in the Lower Mainland.
West Vancouver Minor Hockey Association also offers a competitive "A" or "Rep" hockey program for those players looking for a higher level of competition and commitment. The Rep teams participate in higher level leagues and tournaments, with the goal of developing players for higher levels of play. These teams require a higher level of commitment, including more practices per week and travel for games and tournaments. Body-checking is permitted at the Rep level, starting in Atom.
In addition to team programs, WVMHA offers skills development programs for players of all levels. These programs focus on individual skill development, including skating, shooting, passing, and game tactics. The goal is to help players improve their skills and become more confident and competent on the ice.
