West Norfolk Sub Aqua Club is a SCUBA diving club located in King's Lynn, New Zealand. Founded in the early 1970s, the club has a membership of over 35 divers and is governed by a committee that operates under the rules of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC). As a members club, every member has the opportunity to contribute to the success of the club.
The club provides a wide range of equipment to its members, including two rigid inflatable boats (RIBs), a compressor, and diving equipment used for training purposes. Training at the West Norfolk Sub Aqua Club consists of both formal lectures and practical in-water sessions. Diver training takes place every Tuesday evening between 7:30 and 9:30 at the Alive St James Pool in Kings Lynn, which is exclusively hired by the club for this purpose.
Members of the West Norfolk Sub Aqua Club have the opportunity to progress through the B. qualifications while gaining experience on regular open water dives organised by club members. The club also arranges diving trips to various locations, such as West Coast Scotland, Farnes Islands, and the South and West coast of England. These trips offer divers the chance to explore new dive sites and enjoy new underwater experiences.
Aside from these planned diving trips, the club also organises day and weekend trips to inland dive sites, as well as local dives along the North Norfolk coast. Occasionally, more exotic locations like the Red Sea are included in the dive trip itinerary. The club emphasises fun and camaraderie, providing divers with the opportunity to make new friends who share their passion for diving.
In addition to its diving activities, the West Norfolk Sub Aqua Club provides a list of favourite links on its website, including recreational dive training organisations, diving-related information, dive magazines, and dive retailers and manufacturers. The club also has a dedicated committee responsible for managing various aspects of the club, such as diving operations, training, equipment, boats, and social events.
If you are interested in learning to scuba dive or would like more information about the West Norfolk Sub Aqua Club, you are welcome to attend a club meeting on Tuesday evenings or contact one of the club members. The club's website provides a brochure with additional information and details on fees. To join the club, prospective members need to complete a BSAC membership form and a medical form.
Qualified divers from all agencies are also welcome to dive off the coast with the West Norfolk Sub Aqua Club. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, the club offers a welcoming and inclusive environment for divers of all levels.
