Ben, the organiser of Westminster School of Performing Arts (WSPA), wants to share a little about what they offer to the sports community. Located in London and founded way back in 1990, WSPA is an evenings and weekends school aimed at nurturing the talents of young students aged 3 to 18 through various disciplines like ballet, tap, jazz, street dance, gymnastics, and more. And the best part? Each class is taught by professional teachers, experts in their fields.
Ben loves inviting prospective students to join for a free trial day. It’s a great way for them to test out different classes, find what they enjoy, and get some valuable feedback. If anyone’s interested, getting in touch is super easy—just call Angie on 07768 310521 or drop an email to mail@westminsterperformingarts.co.uk.
WSPA also heads the England Dance Squad, a voluntary "Not for Profit” Community Organisation. This squad trains and supports young dancers and gymnasts to represent England at the International Dance Federation (IDF) World and European Championships. For the past 13 years, they’ve supported over 800 dancers and achieved some great results in the league table.
You’ll find WSPA at Alec Wizard House on Old Pye Street in Westminster, sharing space with St Andrew's youth club. This club is all about providing activities for young folks, from 5 years old up to adulthood. They focus on enabling, educational, and fun experiences. If that piques your interest, check out more at www.standrewsclub.com.
The mission at WSPA is pretty straightforward—providing excellent and affordable classes with a friendly vibe. Whether students are in it for fun, improving their coordination and confidence, or eyeing a career in the Performing Arts, WSPA has got them covered. They also offer the chance to take exams in various subjects like ballet, modern, tap, acting, and even musical theatre.
Beyond regular classes, Ben organises summer schools, workshops, and puts on an annual show in a West End Theatre. There’s no shortage of concerts, displays, competitions, and guest appearances either. Pupils often get casting opportunities too, which is always exciting!
In short, Ben and the team at WSPA aim to create a supportive space where each student can shine, whether they’re there for the sheer joy of it or as a stepping stone towards a career in the Performing Arts.
