Located on the picturesque shores of Okanagan Lake, the West Kelowna Yacht Club (WKYC) has been a tope marine facility serving the West Kelowna community since 1962. Founded by a group of enthusiastic boaters, WKYC has a rich history that dates back to the sinking of the M. V. Pendozi at the C.
N. wharf in Kelowna in 1965. Past Commodore Alan McLeod saw an opportunity to turn this troublesome vessel into an ideal clubhouse for the newly formed Westbank Yacht Club. With the support of the city council, the M.
V. Pendozi was donated to WKYC, where it stands as a historic landmark and a testament to the club's enduring spirit.
The clubhouse, known as the Pendozi, is a hub of activity at WKYC, hosting events, dinners, and gatherings throughout the year. With a full service facility available for year-round hall rentals, WKYC is the perfect venue for weddings, parties, and special events.
