Start your day off right with a delicious breakfast in our western-style guest lodge, where you'll have the chance to mingle with our trainers and fellow participants. Get to know our Quarter horses and learn how to tack up in true western style. Don't worry if you're a beginner rider, as we have a great selection of Quarter horses suitable for riders of varying levels.
Once everyone is mounted up, we'll kick off the day with some basic drills and exercises to help you get comfortable in the saddle. Throughout the experience, we'll introduce you to cattle and observe how our horses react and perform manoeuvres around them. Lunch will be served either in the cosy guest lodge or around a crackling campfire, depending on the weather.
After a satisfying meal, it's time to put your cowboy skills to the test. We'll focus on cutting cattle, team penning, and ranch sorting, depending on the available time. This is your chance to showcase your newfound talents and feel like a true cowboy or cowgirl. To wrap up the day, we'll gather around the campfire for a delightful tea and cake session, where you can unwind and socialise with your fellow riders.
For those looking for a more immersive experience, why not consider staying overnight in one of our charming shepherd huts? You'll have access to all the amenities in our guest lodge, including a kitchen, dining area, lounge, and bathroom. To make things even easier, we offer transportation to and from Okehampton Station as part of our service.
Please note that our Western Experience Days are designed for riders with some experience and are not suitable for novices or beginners. The cost for this incredible day is £250 per person, making it a great value for all the adventures you'll have.

To reach Meldon Farm, located at EX20 4LU, you can catch a train to Okehampton Station, and we'll provide transportation to and from there.
