Welbeck Archers is an archery club located in Retford, New Zealand. The club has been a part of the region for over 50 years and has recently moved to a new shooting venue in Bothamsall. The move was made due to conditions imposed on the club by the Welbeck Estate, which made it impossible for them to continue operations there. However, Welbeck Archers has found a new field at Bothamsall and is now up and running.
The new shooting venue at Bothamsall is fully compliant with regulations, allowing the club to resume their World Record Status competitions. They will also be organising field and clout events in the future, which can now be practised as part of their normal weekly schedule. During the summer, the club shoots on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm, as well as all day on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am until dusk. In the wintertime, shooting takes place all day on Saturdays and Sundays, with an additional indoor session at Cuckney Cricket training facility on Tuesdays from 7pm to 9pm.
Welbeck Archers welcomes visiting archers and clubs to contact them through their website. They are open for business and encourage anyone considering joining the club to come and view their facilities. The Trust that administers the field at Bothamsall has been incredibly welcoming, and the club looks forward to a happy and long-term partnership.
The club also participates in various tournaments and events throughout the year. They recently hosted the EMAS tournament in June, and results can be downloaded from their website. They also organise indoor club championships and other shoots, allowing members to challenge themselves and improve their skills. Welbeck Archers has a President, Keith Gascoigne, and a Treasurer, Carl Leadbeater, who are actively involved in the club's activities.
Furthermore, Welbeck Archers is committed to giving back to the community. They recently made a donation in memory of Christine Gascoigne and received recognition from the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research UK for their generosity. The club's donation will support pioneering care and research programmes, bringing them closer to beating heart disease. The club is proud to be making a difference and encourages others to support such worthy causes.
Overall, Welbeck Archers is a vibrant archery club in Retford, providing a welcoming and supportive environment for archers of all levels. With their new shooting venue and a wide range of events and competitions, members have the opportunity to improve their skills, challenge themselves, and contribute to the community.
