Welcome to Weald Taekwon-Do, a Tae kwon do school located in Cranbrook, New Zealand. With classes in two different locations, we offer training for students aged 6 years and older. Our goal is to provide a space where individuals can improve their fitness, learn self-defence, and have fun, all while developing important life skills.
At Weald Taekwon-Do, we believe in the power of Tae kwon do to instil confidence, discipline, and respect in our students. Our classes are designed to cater to different age groups and skill levels. For our younger students, we focus on teaching significant “Life-Skills” such as anti-bullying techniques, stranger awareness, self-control, discipline, persistence, friendship, and achieving goals. These skills help inspire confidence, courtesy, and respect in our young students.
As our students progress through the ranks, they gain more technical experience and begin to develop power, coordination, and mastery of set movements and self-defence techniques that are appropriate for their age. Our senior grades and adult students continue to develop controlled power, learn advanced self-defence and patterns, improve their fitness, and work on flexibility. Throughout our classes, we prioritise safety and ensure that all students develop at their own pace.
At Weald Taekwon-Do, our instructors have undergone extensive training and are registered with ITF England. They are also insured, have valid First Aid Training, and have undergone DBS Enhanced checks. We are proud to be associated with the highly successful AETA Taekwon-Do Association in Crowborough and ITF England.
Weald Taekwon-Do also offers regular gradings, where students have the opportunity to progress to the next belt level based on their time spent and ability. Our instructors carefully evaluate each student and only invite them to go for the next grade when they believe the student is ready. The journey to a Black Belt is a personal one, and we make sure to provide our students with the guidance and support they need to achieve their goals.
