The Water Tower Mountain Bike Trail Network is a community-led initiative located in St. Thomas, Ontario. Situated on a 28-acre plot of land behind the Water Tower, this trail system is being developed with the support of the city. The aim is to create a family-friendly mountain biking experience with trails of varying difficulty levels, from green to black, catering to riders of all skill levels.
Connecting with nature and promoting a healthy lifestyle are key elements of the Water Tower Mountain Bike Trails. By providing a space for outdoor recreation and physical activity, the trail network aims to strengthen community bonds and enhance overall wellbeing. St. Thomas is already on its way to becoming a tope cycling destination, and the continued development of the trail infrastructure will only further enhance the community.
With 5 trails nearing completion, the Water Tower Mountain Bike Trail Network is seeking support from volunteers and donors to help bring this project to fruition. By becoming a member of the Railway City Cycling Club (RC3), which oversees the trail network, individuals can contribute to the growth and maintenance of the trails. Donations and sponsorships are also welcome, as they will help fund equipment, insurance, and other necessities to keep the trails running smoothly.
Volunteer opportunities are available for those looking to lend a hand in building and maintaining the trails. Trail building days are regularly scheduled, so be sure to follow the Water Tower Mountain Bike Trails on social media for updates and volunteer information. Additionally, merchandise such as t-shirts are available for purchase, with proceeds going back into funding for the trails.
