Our team of dedicated instructors at Warrington Starlights are passionate about providing high-quality dance tuition and helping each individual reach their full potential. Led by Director Samantha Woods, who has over 25 years of coaching and teaching experience, our instructors have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in Pom and Lyrical dance styles.
Hannah, one of our coaches, has a first-class honours degree in Education and Psychology and is also a qualified primary school teacher. She has been dancing with Warrington Starlights for over 14 years and has been teaching for around 7 years. Hannah specialises in Pom and Lyrical dance and enjoys the high energy and fun visuals of Pom.
Tia, another one of our coaches, has a first-class honours degree in Musical Theatre. She has represented England in Pom dance at the ICU World Championships in Florida, USA, and is a brand ambassador for 230 Dance and Cheer Intensives. Tia specialises in Lyrical and Pom dance.
Chloe is our coach who studied at Arden School of Theatre and achieved a BA Hons in Dance and Performance. She has been dancing since the age of 3 in Ballet, Tap, and Modern. Chloe has been dancing with Warrington Starlights for over 7 years and has been teaching for around 4 years. She specialises in Pom and Lyrical dance.
Leah, our assistant coach, discovered her love for dance at the age of 5 when she started street dance. She has a first-class BA Hons in Musical Theatre and is currently studying for her PGCE in Primary Education. Leah has been with Warrington Starlights for 6 years and has been teaching for 3 years. At Warrington Starlights, we offer classes for all ages starting from 4 years old. Our teams, ranging from Tiny all the way up to International Open, regularly compete in competitions both regionally and nationwide. Our primary goal is for children to enjoy themselves and build confidence while providing the highest quality of dance tuition in a fun, safe, and exciting atmosphere.
Pom dance, one of the dance styles we specialise in, is a high-energy style with strong dynamics. Dancers hold 'poms' in their hands while dancing, which characterises the dance style. Pom dance emphasises synchronisation and precision of jumps, arm movements, skills, and formations.
Lyrical dance is another dance style we focus on, incorporating aspects of ballet, jazz, acrobatics, and modern dance. It combines ballet technique with the freedom and musicality of jazz and contemporary styles. Lyrical dance is known for its emotive and expressive nature.
