The Warrandyte Cricket Club is buzzing with excitement as they gear up to promote their upcoming local Cricket event. Catering to the passionate cricket enthusiasts in Melbourne, this club is renowned for its commitment to providing opportunities for girls and women to actively participate in the sport they love.
In their continued effort to promote women's involvement in cricket, the Warrandyte Cricket Club has recently appointed the talented and experienced cricketer and coach, Shania John, as their dedicated Women's and Girl's coach. Shania's passion for women's participation in sport shines through as she works closely with the girls and women of Warrandyte throughout the season, guiding and inspiring them to reach their full potential.
When it comes to programs, the Warrandyte Cricket Club has something for everyone, regardless of age or skill level. The club proudly offers BLAST cricket, a program specially designed for girls and boys aged 5 to 8. With a focus on fostering a fun and inclusive environment, BLAST cricket ensures that every young player thoroughly enjoys their cricket journey.
For girls aged 8 to 12 who are just starting out in cricket, the club offers Stage 1 Spirit. Training sessions take place on Monday afternoons, with thrilling games held on Sunday mornings. This program aims to create a solid foundation for these young girls in cricket, while keeping the focus on fun and active participation.
As the girls become more experienced, they can progress to Stage 2 Stars, which caters to girls up to the age of 18, typically ranging from 12 to 18 years old. Alongside enhancing their cricket skills, training sessions on Monday afternoons are also designed to deepen their understanding of the game. Sunday mornings are reserved for exhilarating matches that put their newfound knowledge and skills to the test.
But the opportunities don't end there! The Warrandyte Cricket Club also offers Senior Women's cricket, providing a supportive and welcoming environment for women of any age who have a burning desire to play cricket. From 14 years and above, this team welcomes players with varying levels of experience. Whether you've played cricket before or are completely new to the sport, this team is all about enjoying the game, honing your skills, and expanding your cricket knowledge. Training takes place on Monday nights, followed by thrilling matches on Sunday afternoons.
In addition to these exciting cricket programs, the Warrandyte Cricket Club also offers Social Sixers, a cricket-based exercise program that combines fitness, fun, and social connections.
