Established in 1968, the Warkworth Bridge Club has a rich history. It began with an advertisement placed in the local paper by two new town residents, which garnered the interest of 16 people. From playing in the basements of homes to larger venues, the club eventually found a permanent home in the old Town Library Building, where we still reside today. The name was changed to Warkworth Bridge Club in 1996, and we became affiliated with the New Zealand Contract Bridge Association in 1990.
The Warkworth Bridge Club follows the rules and regulations outlined in its constitution, which can be accessed via the provided link. Our club is run by a dedicated executive team, with Sarah Gordon serving as President, Heather Mackay as Secretary, and Trudy Franklin as Treasurer. The committee includes Graeme Duhs, Oriel Hesletine, Richard Norburn, and Lynley Lewington, while the partner stewards are Jeanette Grimmer, Vanessa Barber, Trudy Franklin, and Lynley Lewington.
Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to our sponsors for their support, as well as to ClubHub for providing us with the necessary tools to organise our club's activities.
