Wanneroo Amateur Football Club

The Wanneroo Amateur Football Club, based in Wanneroo, Western Australia, is a proud member of the Western Australian Amateur Football League (WAAFL), which was established in 1922. With 66 clubs, 243 teams, and over 17,000 registered players, the WAAFL is the largest single organised football league in WA, catering to players from the age of 16 and attracting considerable volunteer personnel and social supporters.

What started with just one side back in 1985 has now expanded to include a total of five men's teams and one women's team in 2020, making it one of the strongest senior clubs in Western Australia.

Pre-season training sessions are held every Monday and Wednesday at Lake Joondalup Park, starting at 6 PM. These sessions offer players an opportunity to hone their skills and prepare for the upcoming season.

As a testament to the club's growth and success, it has earned promotion to A Grade in the WAAFL, marking its return to the highest league since 2007. The club's ambition is to establish itself as a long-term presence in A Grade football and maintain ongoing success. With an average age of just 23 years, the League team boasts a youthful and talented roster, ensuring a promising future for the Roos.

The Wanneroo Showgrounds serve as the club's home ground and have played a crucial role in both on and off-field successes. The grounds have undergone significant upgrades over the years, including a lighting upgrade in 2005, allowing for night games. These night games have become a social event, attracting large crowds, such as the well-attended match between Joondalup Falcons Womens and East Fremantle for the annual Pink Shield in 2017.
