Wandle Park Skatepark, opened by Freestyle in March 2012, is a hidden gem located in the corner of Wandle Park in Croydon. This skate park is a well-integrated and nicely balanced street and bowl park, perfect for skateboarders and BMX riders alike. The park features smooth concrete surfaces, with a grass patch in the middle, providing a unique and interesting layout.
The park is divided into three main sections. At one end, there is a mini ramp with one side that opens up into the rest of the park. These corners lead into banks and quarter pipes that face onto the middle section. The middle section is split into two, with one side featuring a spine and on the other side of the grass patch is a small pyramid block with an adjoining T-block ledge.
The final section features a bowled quarter pipe, banks, and another quarter pipe.
Although the park has a heavy BMX influence, there are plenty of features for skateboarders as well, making it a great all-round park. With its smooth transitions and line potential, it's perfect for an afternoon skate or BMX session. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a visit.
