CrossFit alongside my business partners, Bedi and Dave, in 2016. I have always been passionate about health and fitness. Growing up, I played a lot of sports and I wanted to continue pursuing my passion after leaving school. I initially started out as a personal trainer, but soon discovered the world of CrossFit and fell in love with it.
At Wakefield CrossFit, we are proud to be an official CrossFit affiliate. We believe in the principle of functional movements performed at high intensity, which can bring about incredible results in terms of both health and physical appearance. We understand that each individual has their own unique fitness level and capacity, so we ensure that every workout can be scaled to meet their needs.
Our experienced coaches are dedicated to teaching, guiding, and supporting our members in increasing their performance across all aspects of physical fitness. CrossFit defines fitness through ten different components: cardio-respiratory endurance, strength, stamina, flexibility, speed, power, accuracy, agility, balance, and coordination. We help our members improve each of these skills through a variety of exercises, from basic squats and deadlifts to advanced Olympic lifts like the clean & jerk and snatch. We even offer classes on handstands and splits!
But CrossFit is not just about the physical aspect; it is also about building a strong community within our gym. We create a supportive and inclusive environment like no other, where everyone celebrates each other's achievements. Lead by our head coaches and co-owners, Paul 'Bedi' Bedford and Daniel 'Pat' Paterson, we have a team of highly qualified coaches who are passionate about helping people achieve their fitness goals. Bedi comes from a football background and has been involved in personal training for over eight years. His love for CrossFit and dedication to his clients' success is evident in his own achievements, such as running a marathon and performing 1800 keepie uppies for charity.
Pat, on the other hand, has been in the fitness industry since 2007 and has worked at various leading gyms. He continuously seeks further education to enhance his knowledge in order to provide the best training experience for our members. With his wealth of experience and dedication to personal development, Pat is committed to helping each member reach their full potential.
