Welcome to Wainui Surf Lifesaving Club, Gisborne's oldest dedicated surf lifesaving club. Established in 1937, we are proud to uphold the values and traditions that were laid down all those years ago. Wainui Surf Lifesaving Club has a rich history of saving lives and promoting beach safety, and we continue to be a trusted and respected presence on our local coastline.

We are honoured to have received the prestigious Patrol Club of the Year and Overall Club of the Year awards in 2020, 2021, and 2022. These accolades highlight our commitment to excellence in delivering lifesaving, education, and sport services to our community. We strive to provide these services with integrity and are dedicated to making our beach and coastline a safer place for everyone.

Running a volunteer club involves significant costs, including funding lifeguards, acquiring essential lifesaving equipment, maintaining our facilities, and supporting our athletes and junior surf members. While we work tirelessly to raise funds through various initiatives, there is still a serious shortfall.
