Welcome to Wainoni Park Pony Club, located in Auckland's North Shore. Wainoni Park offers a unique riding experience for horse and pony owners, allowing them to ride and graze their own horses within our extensive grounds. With a focus on fun and inclusivity, Wainoni Park Pony Club provides a structured coaching regimen that allows members to enjoy, learn, and develop in a safe environment.
At Wainoni Park Pony Club, we strive to make horse ownership as affordable as possible and support each other in our commitment to care for and manage our horses or ponies. Our club philosophy is centred around cultivating a fun inclusive learning environment where members have every opportunity to thrive. We offer a range of equestrian activities, including group riding, show jumping, dressage, and cross country.
Our club facilities include top-notch equestrian amenities that cater to the needs of our members. These facilities are shared with Greenhithe Riding for the Disabled (RDA) and include a floodlit sand showjumping arena, a floodlit dressage arena, a sand arena, and a cross country course up to 105 cm, complete with challenging obstacles such as ditches, sunken roads, and water jumps. We also provide a clubroom with office, kitchen, and bathrooms, covered and uncovered pens, tack storage, wash bays, a grooming bay, and float parking. Members have full access to these facilities, while non-members can purchase annual ground passes or hire the arenas on a daily basis.
Wainoni Park Pony Club is proud to be a member of the New Zealand Pony Club Association (NZPCA). As part of the Waitemata Rodney 'Area,' we contribute to a wider equestrian community while fostering our own club community. Our club is run by a dedicated committee of volunteers, with regular committee meetings held on the second Monday of every month (except January). We believe in the importance of teamwork and encourage all members and their families to contribute to the upkeep of our grounds and facilities through regular working bees.
Our club has a rich history, dating back to its establishment in 2018 through the merger of Greenhithe, Rosedale, and Whenuapai Pony Clubs. We lease the grounds at Wainoni Park in Greenhithe from the Auckland Council, thanks to the Wainoni Park Equestrian Trust. This partnership with the Greenhithe Riding for the Disabled (RDA) allows us to create a supportive and inclusive equestrian community.
