Drury Lane Dance Studio, a local Contemporary Dance club based in Hamilton, is excited to bring you our upcoming dance event! Sponsored and supported by the Waikato Dance Performance Trust, this event aims to provide young dancers with the opportunity to showcase their talent and grow their skills in a near professional performance.
The Waikato Dance Performance Trust is committed to promoting all forms of performing arts, with a special emphasis on dance, in the Waikato region. They provide venues and opportunities for dance classes, rehearsals, and workshops, offering voluntary tuition in performance. Through sponsorships and educational opportunities, they also support performers in gaining further experience through travel.
One of the highlights of the Trust's activities is their support of various performance groups each year. These talented dancers have been involved in numerous community performances, including the Special Children’s Christmas at Mystery Creek, Bellyful Charity Dinner, Hamilton City Santa Parade, Retirement Village performances, and Balloons Over Waikato. These performances not only showcase the skills learned by the dancers but also contribute to the local community.
In addition to their community involvement, the Trust proudly supports Drury Lane Dance and Performance Studio's annual concert, where over 400 dancers take the stage. This concert provides a fantastic opportunity for all students to participate and be fully involved. The Trust also organises Medal Test days for over 300 children, further enhancing their performance abilities and reinforcing valuable life skills such as time management and teamwork.
The Trust goes above and beyond to provide exceptional opportunities for our talented dancers. They have produced incredible live cabaret and dinner shows, such as Solid Gold Impact, that allow experienced performers and up-and-coming talent to shine on a near professional stage. These shows not only showcase our local talent but also provide them with valuable exposure to a wider audience.
It is important to recognise the remarkable effort and dedication of the many volunteers who contribute to the success of the Trust and its performances. These individuals include performers, choreographers, costume sewers, stage crews, ushers, hair and makeup artists, and more. Without their voluntary time, skills, and involvement, we would not have been able to achieve such great success.
So mark your calendars and join Drury Lane Dance Studio for an unforgettable dance event, supported by the Waikato Dance Performance Trust. Come and witness the unbelievable talent of our local dancers and support the growth of performing arts in the Waikato region. Thank you for your ongoing support!
