The Northern Tablelands Orienteering Club is excited to invite all orienteering enthusiasts to join their virtual event happening on Sunday, April 7, 2024. This modern twist on traditional orienteering allows participants to navigate through a course using their smartphone and the MapRun6 app. It's a great opportunity to challenge yourself and have some fun while improving your orienteering skills.
To get started, simply download the MapRun6 app on your Android or Apple device and enter your details to sign up for the event. Make sure to adjust the app settings to fit your GPS sensitivity and personal preferences. You can also download a copy of the map to help you navigate through the course smoothly.
Once you're all set up, hit start on the app and begin your virtual orienteering adventure. Keep an eye out for the control points indicated on the map, and the app will notify you each time you reach one. When you reach the finish line, your route will be displayed on the screen for you to review. Don't forget to upload your results to see how you stack up against other participants!
