Vintage & Veteran is a local activity organised by the Vintage and Veteran Group, a group of motorcycle enthusiasts in the Panorama Motor Cycle Club Inc. These individuals have a special interest in old bikes and occasional touring.
The Vintage and Veteran Group has a rich history, starting in the 1990s when members of the Panorama Motor Cycle Club Inc joined forces. They share a passion for restoring, caring for, and riding older classic machines, all while enjoying exciting tours.
If you own a bike that's older than 30 years, you'll be glad to know that it can be registered under the Roads and Maritime Services Conditional Registration Scheme for Historic Vehicles. This scheme is available to members of recognised clubs, such as the Panorama Motor Cycle Club Inc, and provides a practical and inexpensive way to use and enjoy older bikes. Thanks to the Log Book System, you can even ride your historic bike for up to 60 days a year. How cool is that?
The Vintage and Veteran Group keeps the excitement going by organising a Ride Calendar, which includes fortnightly short rides, rallies in Bathurst and other localities, community events, and motorcycle shows. They also have an annual Rego Day in early December, where members can renew their membership, get their bikes inspected for Historic Registration by club inspectors, and socialise with fellow members. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and share your love for vintage machines.
But wait, there's more! Many members of the Vintage and Veteran Group also own modern bikes. The Group understands that variety is the spice of life, so they organise 2 and 3-day weekend rides throughout the year. It's the perfect chance to experience the best of both worlds and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts.
For those interested in joining the Vintage and Veteran Group or learning more about their activities, monthly group meetings take place at the Bathurst Community Club. You can find them on the first Tuesday of every month (except January) at 6:00 pm.
