Covering an expansive area of 130 acres, Vaynor Playing and Recreation Fields is managed by the community, for the community. The development of the fields has been made possible through a collaboration with the Town Council, with the first five years of operation supported by the National Lottery Community Fund. This enduring partnership ensures that the space remains accessible and enjoyable for all.

One of the key focuses of Vaynor Playing and Recreation Fields is grasslands management. Open Newtown has implemented a sustainable land management plan that prioritises biodiversity and utilises historical land management techniques to increase the richness of the area's natural habitats.
