Located in Pointe-Claire, the Valois Park Rink is a popular spot for winter sports enthusiasts looking to enjoy the thrill of ice skating. This refrigerated skating rink has quickly become a favourite among locals and visitors alike. The City of Pointe-Claire has set up a shared-activities schedule on the ice surface to ensure that everyone can make the most of this facility. During busy periods, the rink is divided into two sections: one for free skating and the other for hockey, marked off by cones for clarity.
To maintain the best skating conditions, the refrigerated rink opens at noon on weekdays until December 23 for maintenance work on the ice surface. Weather and ice conditions may also require maintenance during opening hours. This public rink is dedicated to free skating and hockey, and does not permit activities sponsored by associations, practices, or league play.
During the holiday season, from December 24 to January 4, a special holiday schedule will be in effect. Updates on the opening of other skating rinks will be shared on the City's social media accounts, weather permitting. Skaters can also explore the refrigerated rink in Pointe-Claire Village, reserved for free skating only, located at the corner of Du Bord-du-LacLakeshore and Cartier Avenue. Additionally, residents can enjoy free skating, hockey, and ringette periods at the Bob Birnie Arena with their MULTI Card.
The Valois Park Rink is a wonderful destination for families and friends looking to have fun on the ice in a safe and exciting environment. Whether you are an experienced skater or a beginner, this rink offers a place where everyone can enjoy the beauty of winter sports in Pointe-Claire.
