The Valemount Climbing Club is an indoor bouldering gym located in Valemount, offering a unique and challenging climbing experience for all levels of climbers. The gym is open 7 days a week from 7 am-10 pm for members with a valid all-access pass. Drop-in bouldering is also available during volunteer-monitored hours, which are updated monthly and listed on the calendar. The club encourages visitors to cheque their social media for the latest drop-in hours.
Indoor bouldering is a fun and engaging sport with endless possibilities for challenging oneself. Climbing shoes are required to climb in the gym, and the club recommends that climbers buy their own shoes for a better fit. Rental shoes are available for $2 per visit. Comfortable, breathable clothing and a water bottle are also recommended for a successful climbing session.
The club's sponsors offer a variety of climbing gear and clothing for purchase.
The Valemount Climbing Club is a non-profit, 100% volunteer-run facility. All profits go directly into the operation costs of the gym, with the ultimate goal of being able to hire paid employees and coaches for specialized programs in the future. The club welcomes volunteers to join their team in order to expand drop-in hours and offer more programs to the climbing community.
The club acknowledges that their activities take place on the unceded ancestral territory of the Simpcw and Lheidli Tenneh First Nations. They are committed to promoting a safe and inclusive climbing environment for all members and visitors. For membership inquiries or to join as a volunteer, visitors can reach out to the club via email or sign up for their newsletter to stay informed about the latest activities and events.
