UWA Exercise & Performance Centre, located in Crawley, Western Australia, is dedicated to improving health, function, and physical performance. Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP) and Physiotherapists provide individual and group exercise services at the centre. Upon arrival, clients undergo an initial assessment, which includes a client interview and physical assessment, to identify their history and goals. Based on the assessment, tailored recommendations, education, and other services are provided to suit each client's exercise and lifestyle needs.
The EPC offers a variety of clinical programmes each week, creating a supportive environment for clients. These programmes target a range of health goals, including cardiometabolic disease, musculoskeletal pain or injury, cancer, and healthy ageing. The centre is also associated with the School of Human Sciences, providing clinical training to postgraduate students pursuing a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology.
The AEPs at UWA Exercise & Performance Centre specialise in clinical exercise interventions for individuals at risk of developing or already suffering from medical conditions and injuries. The interventions aim to prevent or manage acute, sub-acute, or chronic diseases or injuries, while assisting in restoring optimal physical function, health, or wellness. These exercise-based interventions include health and physical activity education, advice, and support for lifestyle modifications with a strong focus on achieving behavioural changes.
The EPC offers exercise physiology consultation and gym access, as well as clinical group programmes and athletic and performance testing. The centre also provides information for referrers to assist in making appropriate referrals for their clients.
