At Urban Combatives West, our mission is to empower individuals with the confidence and ability to protect themselves in today's world. We believe that self-defence should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or experience. Our training methods focus on real-life situations and address the extreme end of the violence scale. We teach practical and effective techniques that are easy to learn and implement, even under the effects of the combat stress.

Our instructors, including Harj Sohal, a Fifth Generation Full UC instructor, have extensive training and experience in various martial arts and self-defence systems. Harj, in particular, has been involved in Krav Maga for the past 10 years and has recently been awarded the status of UC Senior Instructor. Our team is committed to providing the highest calibre of instruction and guidance to our students.

At Urban Combatives West, we emphasise the importance of self-protection rather than self-defence. We believe that the best solution is to avoid dangerous situations whenever possible. We teach our students personal security measures and non-physical skills, such as avoidance and verbal de-escalation, in order to minimise the need for physical confrontation. However, when physical action is necessary, we provide a collection of proven and practical techniques to handle a variety of violent situations.
