UNSW Aussie Rules Academy

The UNSW Aussie Rules Academy is an Australian Football League (AFL) club located in Daceyville. With a strong focus on player development and community engagement, the club aims to provide a fun and challenging environment for male and female footballers to excel in their football skills, education, career, and personal lives.

The Academy Squad programme is the core offering of the club, providing expert feedback and tailored training sessions to meet the specific needs of each player. It consists of three training phases, namely the Preparation Phase (February to April), Growth Phase (April to June), and Committed Phase (June to August), with two training sessions per week. The sessions focus on Football Mastery and Athletic Development.

Trials are a mandatory part of joining the squad programme and can be done privately or during training sessions. The trials continue throughout the preparation and growth phases and conclude during the school holidays in July.

The UNSW Aussie Rules Academy offers three different squad categories based on age and gender. The M1 Squad caters to graded males aged 15 and 16, providing them with a challenging and rewarding environment to push their boundaries and reach their full potential. The M2 Squad is designed for graded males aged 13 and 14, allowing them to learn the values of the Academy, develop the Pillars of Success, and accelerate their development. Lastly, the F1 Squad is exclusively for graded females aged 13 to 16, offering them a platform to fast-track their skill development, strengthen their strengths, and create a plan for the future.

In addition to the squad programme, the UNSW Aussie Rules Academy also offers private training options. Players can choose from 1-on-1 sessions or small group training, allowing them to receive expert support and guidance to realise their potential.
