Hey Sports Community,
Mark, the organiser here, wanted to give you all a heads-up about the University of Cumbria Sports Complex in Lancaster. It’s a cracking place, just off Wyresday Road—well worth checking out if you haven't already!
First off, their fitness suite has got everything you need. We're talking a full strength rack, Olympic plates, barbells, dumbbells, treadmills, rowers—you name it, they've got it. Everything’s top-notch and air-conditioned, so you'll be working out in comfort.
The sports hall is a versatile space where you can play football, badminton, basketball, or join an exercise class. Plus, there's a dedicated gymnastics area for all you gymnasts out there.
If you prefer outdoor action, there’s a grass football pitch and a floodlit artificial turf pitch. Perfect for a match or just a casual kickabout with your mates.
They’ve even got a human performance lab used in degree programmes. You and your team can book it for some advanced performance testing. Pretty neat, right?
Accessibility is nailed at this place. The car park’s convenient, entrances have automatic doors, and there are private disability changing rooms with all the necessary facilities. There’s also a lift for accessing the first-floor offices and labs.
Showers and changing rooms are sorted too, with sizeable changing rooms and plenty of toilets in a separate area.
There’s a bunch of classes and activities for all ages and fitness levels, including a timetable packed with fitness classes and children’s activities like gymnastics managed by The City of Lancaster Gymnastics Club.
Memberships come in various options for students, staff, and the public. Students and staff can choose between standard and premium memberships, which get you unlimited access to the fitness rooms, classes, and facilities at Salt Ayre. Public memberships also offer great access, including to resistance machines, cardio machines, and free classes.
For more deets on memberships and facilities, just pop an email to the contact provided. Mark’s looking forward to seeing more of you join!
Cheers,
Mark and the Team
