University of Calgary Gymnastics Cochrane, located at the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre in Cochrane, is committed to helping individuals discover a love of gymnastics and inspire a lifelong passion for physical activity and staying healthy.
As part of the University of Calgary's Active Living department, the gymnastics program values the philosophy that physical literacy benefits people of all ages. Learning gymnastics at a young age can spark an interest in physical activity and provide a foundation for future athletic endeavours. The program aims to see athletes flourish, whether they advance through the ranks of the programs or use gymnastics as a springboard into other athletic pursuits.
The facility offers a variety of programs, including preschool programs for children as young as 6 months, recreational ladder programs for artistic gymnasts ages 6-17, LTAD programs for dedicated athletes, summer camps for fun and skill-building, and birthday parties for celebration and fun. The Cochrane Gymnastics facility also offers drop-in sessions for children ages 2-17, as well as custom group bookings for schools, events, parties, and cross-training programs.
University of Calgary Gymnastics Cochrane prioritizes safety in all activities and provides age-appropriate skills and challenges for participants. The facility is dedicated to creating meaningful and diverse programs for all ages and skill levels. For those interested in adult programming, the facility plans to resume adult gymnastics classes in the Fall of 2024.
