Underhill Riding Stables is licenced under the Riding Establishments Act 1970 by Powys County Council, ensuring that our facilities and services meet the highest standards. We are open all year round, except Mondays, and our operating hours from Tuesday to Sunday are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Our team at Underhill Riding Stables is dedicated to providing exceptional service and care to our clients and horses. Kath, the senior partner and founder of the business, oversees the management of the yard and the running of the office and Tack Shop. Jess, her daughter-in-law and partner, is responsible for teaching, training, and organising lessons and hacks. Jess is a qualified coach and holds her BHSAI certification, as well as a Stage 4 Horse care certificate.
She is also experienced in riding and handling all the horses that come in for breaking, schooling, or sale. Kath and Jess both hold NVQ level 3 in Horse Care & Knowledge and City and Guilds A1 Assessors Award.
Nigel, Kaths son and Jess husband, is the third partner of Underhill Riding Stables. He is an Agricultural Contractor and plays a vital role in maintaining the farm's infrastructure, providing high-quality fodder and straw for the horses' well-being, and overseeing building maintenance. Nigel also manages the delivery of materials to the stable yard using specialised machinery and ensures the proper storage and spreading of manure onto the land.
Milly Clarke, a long-standing member of our team, serves as the yard manager and right-hand person. Milly has been with us since she was a child, having ridden with us for many years. She takes meticulous care of each and every horse on the farm, tending to their daily needs and ensuring their well-being. Milly also assists with lessons and hacks, and she is particularly excellent with children.
She holds a BHS stage 3 qualification and is currently training for her Stage 3 coach certificate.
At Underhill Riding Stables, all our staff undergo continuous professional development and training for their jobs. They are DBS checked and hold current Safeguarding and First Aid Certificates, ensuring the safety and security of both our clients and horses.
We offer individual or group lessons in the peaceful and picturesque Mid-Wales countryside. Our experienced and friendly staff will ensure that you have a relaxed and enjoyable ride on our well-trained horses. Whether you're a beginner or a more experienced rider, our lessons are tailored to suit your skill level and goals.
