With over 16 years of experience, they teach self-defence to over 150 students each week, catering to all ages, faiths, genders, and fitness abilities. They have a special focus on training children through their Ultra Juniors programme.
Ultra Krav Maga is fully accredited and insured, ensuring that students receive high-quality training in a safe and harmonious environment. The school emphasises threat neutralisation and developing natural defensive manoeuvres to handle violent situations effectively. They do not rely on boring katas or complex patterns to memorise but rather teach realistic and practical techniques. The goal is to finish a confrontation as quickly as possible, while also encouraging students to avoid conflicts whenever possible.
Krav Maga, which means “Contact Combat” in Hebrew, is the basis of Ultra Krav Maga's training. It incorporates techniques from various martial arts disciplines, including Boxing, Muay Thai, Wing Chun, Judo, Jujutsu, Wrestling, and Grappling. The focus is on real-world situations and efficient and brutal counter-attacks. Krav Maga teaches students how to prevent, avoid, deter, or deal with different forms of violent threats and attacks, even those involving weapons.
Ultra Krav Maga believes in making self-defence accessible to everyone. Their training does not require learning numerous patterns or performing endless repetitions. Instead, they focus on simple yet highly effective techniques that anyone can learn. From punches to pistol threats, chokes to kicks, and abductions to multiple attackers, Ultra Krav Maga covers a wide range of scenarios.
Students can train at their own pace and receive expert instruction, constructive feedback, and enthusiastic encouragement from the instructors.
Chief Instructor Marc Smith, the founder of Ultra Krav Maga, has 16 years of experience and has reached Expert level in Krav Maga. He has trained under renowned Krav Maga instructors, many of whom come from a background in law enforcement, military, or special forces. Marc's passion, engagement, and enthusiasm are evident in his teaching, as he aims to empower all students to defend themselves and their loved ones in times of trouble.
