Located in Lisburn, the Ulster Grand Prix Paddock is a car racing track that offers an exhilarating experience for motorsports enthusiasts. This racing track holds a significant place in the history of car racing, as it has been hosting the Ulster Grand Prix motorcycle race for over a century.
Organised by the Ulster Grand Prix Supporters Club and the Dundrod and District Motorcycle Club, the race takes place at the paddock area of the Dundrod circuit. Supported by the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, the event attracts both local and international racers, making it a highly anticipated event in the motorsports calendar.
The Ulster Grand Prix Paddock offers a stunning backdrop for the race, with its expansive and well-maintained facilities. The paddock area opens its doors to the public from 11 am until 5 pm, providing free admission to all attendees. This family-friendly event promises a day filled with excitement and entertainment for people of all ages.
Visitors to the event will have the opportunity to witness some of the most accomplished and revered road racers, including legends such as Bruce Anstey, who has won the Ulster Grand Prix an impressive 13 times. Glenn Irwin, a prominent figure in British Superbike (BSB) and road racing, will also be present, adding to the star-studded lineup.
In addition to the thrilling race, the event offers a chance to explore an impressive collection of classic and racing machinery. Guests can admire machines from every decade of competition at the Ulster, further highlighting the rich history and evolution of car racing.
One of the highlights of the day is the special ride-out that allows 100 lucky riders to experience the 7. 4 mile Co. Antrim circuit firsthand. This ride-out serves as a commemoration of the race's 100th anniversary and allows participants to ride on what is known as the World's Fastest Road racing course.
Throughout the day, the paddock area will be filled with family-friendly activities, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees. Please note that due to financial difficulties and the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Ulster Grand Prix did not take place in 2020 and will not be held in the current year. However, the Dundrod and District Motorcycle Club remains committed to resurrecting the event, with plans to return to action at Dundrod in 2022 for the centenary celebrations.
