Hey Team,
Just wanted to give everyone a shout about what’s going on at Ulley Sailing Club. John’s been working hard to keep the atmosphere buzzing with community spirit and teamwork. The club’s got sailing experiences for all, whether you're just starting or an old hand at it.
Since it's a Royal Yachting Association Training Centre, Ulley can offer RYA Sailing Courses to everyone. If you're on the fence about sailing, there are half-day “Sailing Experience” sessions. An experienced member will show you the ropes, and you might even get to take the helm by the end of it.
For those looking to up their game, there are adult and junior courses too. They’ve even got RYA Powerboat Courses. These are only for members because of the water size, so hit John up if you're interested. The Powerboat Level 2 course is great for weekend warriors or even those using it for work. There’s also the RYA Safety boat course, which is handy if you’re aiming to assist with rescue operations at the club.
Keep in mind, Ulley is run entirely by volunteers, which means costs stay low and the vibe stays friendly and team-oriented. They offer affordable training and loads of fun sailing and racing opportunities. Members can use club boats like Lasers, RS Qubas, RS Teras, RS Visions, Enterprises, and more. If you’ve got your own boat, there’s secure storage on-site as well.
The club loves getting involved in events and trips, like the Filey Regatta. For the younger crowd (under 18), there are Youth Squad fun training sessions once a month. It’s a chance for the young sailors to learn and have a blast together, all under the watchful eyes of qualified RYA instructors and John’s team.
Ulley’s beautiful location at the reservoir is just a quick five-minute drive from J33 of the M1. They’re pretty active on social media too—Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Flickr—so follow along to keep updated with all the club’s happenings.
Catch you on the water,
Team Ulley
